Web Developer (WordPress and PHP)

Web Developer (WordPress) needed for an onsite role in Chesterfield, VA. This 12-month contract requires in-person interviews and on-site presence 4 days a week. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in full-stack WordPress development, including PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST API, with a focus on creating accessible and secure web solutions. Job Description:
As a WordPress Web Developer, you will work across the full stack to develop and maintain features and services for public-facing applications. You will focus on creating positive, accessible user experiences for both desktop and mobile, while adhering to secure coding practices. Your role will also involve debugging and security remediation, as well as collaborating with team members using agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and implement new features in WordPress to support web applications.
• Develop solutions ensuring accessibility and usability on both desktop and mobile platforms.
• Perform debugging and security remediations for public-facing applications.
• Collaborate within agile teams, adhering to best practices in web development.
• Engage in continuous learning to improve skillset and apply modern web technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• WordPress Development: 5+ years of experience in WordPress application development.
• PHP: Proficient in PHP coding and debugging.
• Front-End Technologies: Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• SQL: Strong understanding of SQL databases.
• REST API: Proficient in working with RESTful APIs.
• Back-End Optimization: Proven experience in infrastructure maintenance and optimization, as well as UX/UI design principles.
• Security: Strong knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with a team on end-to-end web development projects.
• Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Requirements:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field, with significant software implementation experience.
